A new trim has been added to the Hyundai Venue lineup, called S (O) Plus, with an ex-showroom price of Rs 9.99 lakh. This variant falls between the S (O) and S (O) Knight Edition. The USP of this variant is the electric sunroof, which isn't available in the other two variants with the naturally aspirated 1.2L Kappa petrol engine. Hyundai has also mentioned a list of features available in this trim, which I will discuss below. Before that, make sure to join 91Wheels WhatsApp Channel to never miss out on automotive updates.

Hyundai Venue S (O) Plus Features
This new trim is only available with the 1.2L Kappa petrol engine, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, producing 83 PS and 113.8 Nm of torque. The fuel economy of this engine is 17.5 kmpl as per ARAI, but with a light foot, it can go up to 19 to 20 kmpl.
Talking about the features, it gets:
- Smart Electric Sunroof
- LED DRL
- LED Projector headlamps
- 8 Inch Touchscreen Infotainment system with Wireless Andriod Auto and Apple CarPlay
- Digital Cluster with color TFT Multi Information Display (MID)
- 6 Airbags
- Tyre Pressure Monitioring System
- Automatic headlamps
- Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
- Hill- Start Assist Control (HAC)
- Rear Camera
What makes it an attractive variant?
In the Hyundai Venue, the electric sunroof starts from the S (O) variant, but only if you opt for the 1.0L Turbo petrol engine and the 7-speed DCT gearbox, which costs Rs 11.85 lakh. However, it will now be available at a price tag of Rs 9.99 lakh ex-showroom.
Hyundai made this decision because many people resist buying turbo petrol engines or automatic transmissions, but there is a strong demand for a sunroof, which has become one of the most popular features in modern cars. If a sunroof isnt available, the purchase can feel incomplete.
There is still a large section of customers who want a naturally aspirated engine and manual gearbox because of the raw feel of driving them. Additionally, they are quite inexpensive to maintain compared to turbo petrol engines. So, this is a great step by Hyundai, resulting from high demand from their customers.
