German marquee BMW has globally unveiled its 2023 facelift of BMW 3 Series. The 3 Series now sports a new exterior design and updated interiors with loads of new technology and functions. The sedan's powertrain, on the other hand, is the same as the previous one. The updated BMW 3 Series is expected to arrive in India next year, potentially in early or mid-2023. Let's have a look at the updates of the 2023 BMW 3 Series.
2023 BMW 3 Series Engine
The standard 330i has a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 255 bhp, followed by the 330e plug-in hybrid with 288 bhp and the M340i with BMW's turbocharged 3.0-litre I6 engine that produces 382 bhp of power. BMW's xDrive all-wheel-drive technology is offered on the BMW 330e and BMW M340i. All engines in the new BMW 3 Series come standard with an 8-speed Steptronic gearbox. The range-topping models come standard with BMW xDrive.
2023 BMW 3 Series Exterior
The front apron highlights the sporty image of the new BMW 3 Series Sedan and BMW 3 Series Touring with its clearly structured surfaces, dynamic lines, and massive air intakes. The car also has a strong visual presence thanks to the revised headlamps and kidney grille. The standard full-LED headlights have thinner outlines and DRLs placed in an inverted L form for a more harmonious and modern appearance.
The rear apron of the new BMW 3 Series Sedan and new BMW 3 Series Touring has a particularly elegant look thanks to a higher proportion of body-colored elements and a clean-cut design. The width and strong stance of the rear are emphasised by horizontal lines, slim light units, and flared rear wheel arches. The tailpipe finishers on the exhaust system are now 90 or 100 mm in diameter, depending on the engine version.
The new BMW 3 Series already has a strongly aggressive aspect in standard trim, which is enhanced by the M High-gloss Shadowline trim that is now standard. In addition, all BMW 3 Series Sedan models now come with 17-inch light-alloy wheels as standard equipment.
2023 BMW 3 Series Interior
The interiors of the new BMW 3 Series Sedan and BMW 3 Series Touring have been completely redesigned. The BMW Curved Display will be standard on the new 3 Series. A 12.3-inch information display behind the steering wheel and a 14.9-inch control display are combined here to produce a single totally digital and high-resolution panel. This cutting-edge cockpit design features progressive digitalization at its core, allowing for a considerable reduction in the amount of buttons and controls in favour of touch and voice control.
The redesigned dashboard layout is also included with the new 3 Series facelift. Below the curved touchscreen, the vehicle now has thinner AC vents. Climate control has been moved to the centre console, and the gear selector has been replaced with a smaller toggle lever.
An automatic dimming rear-view mirror, the expanded storage package, and Park Distance Control (PDC) with front and rear sensors are among the new standard features. BMW Live Cockpit Plus, which includes the BMW Maps navigation system, is now standard on all models.
2023 BMW 3 Series Safety Features
A variety of automated driving and parking technologies are available to take the 2019 BMW 3 Series' comfort and safety to new heights. Front Collision Warning with Brake Intervention, which detects cyclists, cars, and pedestrians, Cruise Control with Brake Function, Speed Limit Display with No-Overtaking Indicator, Manual Speed Limit Assist, and Lane Departure Warning with Lane Return are all standard features.
The Reverse Assist Camera and the Reverse Assistant are two of the optional Parking Assistant's features. Optional features include BMW Drive Recorder and Parking Assistant Plus*, which includes Park View, Panorama View, and Remote 3D View.
So that was all about the BMW 3 Series 2023, which is slated to arrive in India by mid-2023.
