The company aims to maintain a competitive price for the forthcoming electric vehicle by prioritizing local production. In addition to localizing the manufacturing process, the brand intends to export the electric vehicle from India to various global markets, beginning with Europe. With the advantage of local production, Maruti can effectively lower the overall cost of the EV for Indian customers.
A heavily camouflaged prototype of the Maruti eVX was recently sighted in Bengaluru. The electric vehicle's design is anticipated to deviate slightly from the concept showcased at the Auto Expo Motor Show. Notably, it will feature extended dimensions, measuring 4.3 meters in length, with a wheelbase of 2700 mm. The exterior of the EV was observed with an Outside Rear View Mirror (ORVM)-mounted camera, indicating the inclusion of a 360-degree camera system. The test mule also showcased features such as multi-spoke alloy wheels, a rear wiper, a top-mounted stop lamp, and C-pillar-mounted rear door handles.
