It is no secret to anyone that Mahindra is working on next-gen models of the new Scorpio and the XUV500. With both these models set to be introduced in the market next year, we are expecting the brand to make these much better than the present-gen models. Having said that, as per the data available online, Mahindra has filed a trademark application to trademark a new name - ScorpioN - for the new Scorpio. Read on to find out more details.
While a little is know about the upcoming vehicle, we are expecting the ScorpioN to be a more powerful version of the standard Scorpio which will be introduced early next year. In addition to this, as far as the reports are believed, the upcoming Scorpio will be powered by the new 2.0-L Stallion petrol engine which is expected to deliver 150 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque. The other engine on offer will be a 2.2-L mHawk diesel engine that produces 130 bhp while the torque output stands at 320 nm. Both these engines can be had with a 6-speed manual as well as automatic gearboxes.

The Indian carmaker earlier filed a trademark application for the name Scorpio Sting after which the name ScorpioN was trademarked. The new upcoming Mahindra ScorpioN will be offered as a feature-loaded package and is being designed by the brand's North American Technical Centre in Detroit, USA and Research Valley in Chennai. The new-gen Scorpio will also come with newly designed headlamps, a bigger 5-slot grille, and a completely new design language.
The Mahindra ScorpioN will become the second car in the brand's portfolio to feature a new logo, which will be first seen in the upcoming next-gen XUV500. The car will feature an updated ladder-on-frame chassis which will make it more capable, safe, and will give the vehicle better driving dynamics when compared to the existing version. Having said this, features like a touchscreen infotainment system, multi-functional steering wheel, rear AC vents, etc will also be seen on the new Mahindra Scorpio.
