Mahindra Thar 5-Door: Features, Safety, And Powertrain Details
In recent sightings, the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5 Door, potentially named the Mahindra Armada, was spotted alongside the Tata Curvv. It shares a striking resemblance to the 3-door Thar but with larger dimensions. Expected to retain much of the smaller version's design, it will feature a few tweaks.
On the features side, expect a broader range including a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, dual-zone AC, a rear centre armrest, a sunroof, and more for added comfort and convenience. Safety features are likely to include six airbags, front parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and more. Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, driver drowsiness detection, FCW, blind-spot detection, automatic emergency braking (AEB), and others are also anticipated.

The Tata Curvv has been revealed to the public, showcasing a sleek and futuristic design that shares some styling cues with the Tata Nexon facelift. Sporting an SUV Coupe silhouette, it measures 4,308 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, and 1,640 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,560 mm.
Inside, the Curvv boasts dual 10.25-inch screens, wireless connectivity, touch controls for the AC functions, ventilated front seats, JBL speakers, and a spacious panoramic glass roof. Safety features include up to 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, and an ADAS suite. Under the hood, it is powered by a robust 1.5 L CRAIL Diesel engine generating 113.42 bhp and 260 nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The boot space offers a generous 422 litres.
Mahindra Thar 5-Door And Tata Curvv: Launch Timeline Details
Tata plans to roll out its sleek electric vehicle, dubbed the Curvv, sometime between July and September 2024, marking the company's entry into the electric car market for that fiscal year. Following this, about three to four months later, they'll introduce the traditional internal combustion engine version of the Curvy.
Meanwhile, Mahindra has set the stage for the debut of its anticipated five-door model of the Thar on August 15, 2024, with a full launch expected sometime in the last quarter of 2024.
