Mahindra and Mahindra have been working on an electric version of its latest sub-compact SUV, the XUV 3XO. The automaker has been spotted testing the upcoming EV recently. This is the first time when we have seen the battery-powered XUV 3XO test mule on roads. The rigorous testing of the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV hints that it will make its India debut soon. Mahindra XUV 3XO EV Test Mule Reveals
However, the spotted test mule was heavy on camouflage, the C-shaped LED DRLs were visible. Apart from this, the grille was also a little bit uncovered because of the EV-specific air intakes. When compared with the ICE counterpart, the XUV 3XO EV will get some necessary design upgrades because of its EV nature. These include a redesigned grille, bumpers, and different badging. The EV version will also get a new set of alloy wheels for better efficiency.
The XUV 3XO will be the second EV offering of the brand after the XUV 400 EV. It is expected to be positioned below the XUV 400. Despite being placed in the sub-4 metre category, the Mahindra XUV 3XO will measure almost equal to its ICE counterpart and 200 mm shorter than its bigger sibling in length. Other elements such as the boot space are also expected to resemble the XUV 400.
Mahindra XUV 3XO EV: Battery Pack
The upcoming EV is expected to feature a 35 kWh battery pack which is slightly smaller than its elder sibling which carries a 40 kWh battery. For now, we don't have motor and range-related details with us. But we will you updated as we will get more info on the powertrain part.
Mahindra XUV 3XO EV: Price (Expected)
keeping in mind the positioning of the upcoming EV below the XUV 400 EV, we can expect it to come with a starting price tag of Rs. 13 lakh (ex-showroom, going up to Rs. 17 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, the XUV 3XO EV will lock horns with the Nexon EV.
