Mahindra is preparing to introduce a facelift for the XUV300, aimed at enhancing both its aesthetics and technology. While the vehicle's interiors are expected to maintain a familiar look, there will be notable improvements such as a larger and more contemporary touchscreen infotainment system. Additionally, there are indications of a potential inclusion of a digital instrument cluster, which would enhance the vehicle's tech features.
But this is something we have covered earlier, and now we have a new update coming in indicating a new automatic gearbox and some new features. Let's look at what upgrades are in the works.

It appears that Mahindra is expected to retain the existing engine options for the XUV300 in the upcoming mid-life update. These engine choices offer a range of power outputs and fuel types to cater to diverse customer preferences. The options include a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine, a more powerful 1.2-liter direct injection turbo-petrol engine, and a 1.5-liter diesel engine.
However, in order to make things more interesting, Mahindra plans to introduce the updated XUV300 with an Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic transmission, specifically a torque converter. This automatic transmission is expected to replace the 6-speed automated manual transmission (AMT) that was previously available. The transition to a torque converter automatic is likely to provide smoother and more convenient gear shifts, improving the overall driving experience for XUV300 owners.
While the reports of this inclusion are out, there is still no gossip about the permutation and combinations of its pairing with the engine options. On top of this, a panoramic sunroof is also highly likely to be included in the top-tier variants of this compact SUV.
Updates From Earlier Spy Shots
As clear from previous spy shots, the facelift is coming with a refreshed headlamps and tail lamps design, inspired by the XUV700 design language. This is the new layout, Mahindra is looking to standardise on the upcoming vehicles. On top of this, a bigger infotainment screen and ADAS module are on their way as inferred from under the wraps. While these are not confirmed as of now, it is likely to feature a fully digital instrument cluster and a panoramic sunroof as well.
XUV300 Facelift: Powertrain
The existing powertrain options are expected to be retained, consisting of the 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engines producing 110hp and 131hp, along with the 1.5-liter diesel engine generating 117hp. These powertrains remain compliant with the BS6 Stage II emissions standards.
The XUV300 facelift is anticipated to hit the market in the coming year. Positioned to compete with formidable rivals such as the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, and the upcoming Kia Sonet facelift, Mahindra's updated offering promises to be a strong contender in the compact SUV segment.
Verdict
This upcoming refresh promises enhanced styling, modernized infotainment, and a potential digital instrument cluster. The real game-changer, however, is the probable inclusion of a segment-first panoramic sunroof, adding a touch of luxury and spaciousness to the compact SUV. Furthermore, a new Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic torque converter transmission is set to replace the existing automated manual transmission (AMT), offering a smoother and more refined driving experience. With these upgrades and a range of powerful engine options, the updated XUV300 is poised to make a strong statement in the competitive compact SUV segment.
