Mahindra has expanded the Mahindra XUV300 lineup with the introduction of a new entry-level variant, the W2, priced at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Additionally, the performance-oriented TurboSport engine option is now more accessible, available from the W4 variant onwards. As a result, this makes the Mahindra XUV300 a more appealing option for those seeking petrol power, while the diesel variant lineup remains unchanged.

Mahindra XUV300: What's New
With the introduction of this new W2 MT base variant, the prices of Mahindra XUV300 now start at Rs. 7.99 lakhs ex0showroom. This makes it even more accessible than before. On top of this, the TurboSport variant is now also more affordable, starting from the W4 trim rather than the W6 earlier.

Furthermore, the buyers will now get a sunroof starting from lower variants. The W4 variants of the XUV300 now come with a sunroof and customers no longer need to opt for the top-end trim for this feature. This enhancement applies to both the petrol and diesel options. This might be a move stemming from the increased feature offerings on the more affordable cars like the Hyundai Exter and Tata Punch, which, although different segments have started to offer much more than they did before.
Powertrain
XUV300 offers 2 engine options. A 1.2-litre petrol that churns out 110hp power and 200Nm of peak torque with a 5-speed MT. The W2 variant is available solely with this engine option. On the other hand, a 1.5-litre TurboSport has a 6-speed manual with 131hp power and 230Nm of torque and is now available from the W4 variant, in contrast with the W6 earlier. The significant change with this is that turbo petrol can be had while spending 1.2 lakh rupees less than before. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre diesel mill produces 115 hp with a peak torque of 300Nm.
