Mahindra XUV300: Why it is the SAFEST made in India car ever?

Mahindra launched the all-new XUV300 last year to take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and the Ford EcoSport. Earlier this year, Global NCAP released the safety test ratings for the XUV300. The XUV300 is currently the safest made in India car, but how do we conclude that? Well, here are five reasons that say the same.

Highest Score

According to the test conducted by Global NCAP, the Mahindra XUV300 has the highest score in the test results. Even though the Tata Nexon and the Tata Altroz have a five-star safety rating, the XUV300 gets a higher score. The XUV300 gets a score of 16.42 out of 17 for adult occupants. The Tata Altroz gets 16.13 for the same test. It means that the XUV300 offers better adult protection than other five-star rated vehicles.

First and only car to get 4-star child safety

The Mahindra XUV300 won the 'Safer Choice' award while no other vehicle qualified for the same. The Global NCAP safety test reveals that the XUV300 scored 37.44 points out of 49 for child safety. It translates into the four-star rating for the child occupants. At present, it is the only car to offer a four-star safety rating in India. The other five-star rated cars - Altroz and Nexon offer three stars child safety rating.

Safe braking system

The safest made in India car is the only vehicle in its segment to offer four disc brakes. Now it may not seem like an important feature to have but in India, where anyone can jump in front of your vehicle out of nowhere, the brakes are really important. Disc brakes significantly reduce the braking distance and also, since the disc brakes run cooler, they offer much more efficient braking compared to regular drum brakes.

Top-notch safety in all variants

Mahindra ensures safety in all its variants of the XUV300 by offering critical safety features like cornering brake control and ISOFIX hooks as standard! The cornering brake control system ensures that the wheels do not lock up while turning and using the brakes. It is a very useful feature, especially on the winding mountain roads. Also, for child safety, ISOFIX hooks are standard across the variants. ISOFIX hooks are used to mount child seats.

7 airbags!

safest made in India car

The top-end version of the XUV300 offers as many as seven-airbags. It is the highest in the segment and surely a highlight for the safest made in India car. Apart from the front, side and curtain airbags, the XUV300 also offers driver-side knee airbag. It is a critical feature during high-speed accidents and keeps the right leg of the driver safe from injuries.
