Maruti Suzuki India, on its 40th Anniversary, announced the launch of its Black edition of all cars under the Nexa and Arena outlets. After spotting WagonR, Celerio, Ertiga, and the Alto K10 in this Black Avatar, now we have the entrant Maruti Baleno from the house of Nexa. It is interesting to know that the Black Edition doesn't demand any premium for the dark paint job.
Let's check out the pictures of the Baleno in black.
Maruti Baleno Black Edition
The first thing to note is that this black paint scheme is only available in the top variants, Alpha and Alpha+ only. At the front, the design is exactly the same, but in Pearl Midnight Black Color with chrome strips on the grille and the fog lamp assembly.
From its side profile, it sports nothing but black. The only departure is diamond-cut silver finish alloys that provide a premium appeal. The chrome window lining remains the same for this exclusive edition. The window strip is blacked out on other models in Black Edition. This provides it with a contrasting element. If you wish for an all-black look, you can buy it as an accessory.
The rear is all black with a contrasting chrome strip just underneath the windscreen. The brand logo is in the typical chrome as well. Meanwhile, the reflectors have a chrome outline too.
Nothing Else Changes
The changes on the black edition are only cosmetic and everything else remains exactly the same. Baleno is powered by a 1.2-liter, 4-cylinder petrol engine, which also comes mated to a company-fitted CNG kit. The power output, in Petrol mode, is 89bhp with 113Nm of torque, while in CNG mode, the engine churns out 76bhp and 98.5Nm of torque.
VERDICT- Since time immemorial, The black color option has had its separate fanbase. Even though it demands extra pampering and wash care, it does stand out and imparts a definite character. With the launch of this new edition, Maruti Suzuki buyers will have the option to buy their rides in black. Plus, it retails at the same exact amount, which is a cherry on top.
