Mechanically, Maruti Baleno will be powered by a 1.2-litre, DualJet petrol motor that generates as much as 89 bhp with 113 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard and an optional AMT unit. The ARAI certified mileage of manual is 22.35 kmpl while the AMT returns 22.94 kmpl.
