Original Article - November 6, 2020; The Maruti Brezza is one of the highest selling cars for the brand and was offered as a highly VFM and a competent car when it was launched in the market. With the BS6 norms coming into action, the brand updated the car and gave it a minor facelift. With this being said, how good is the new car? Here are the top 10 Maruti Brezza BS6 Petrol Pros and Cons that you should know.
Pros
1. Competent 1.5-L Petrol Engine
The new K15 1.5-L engine is not just smooth and refined but also gets a strong low-end. The linear power delivery and decent fuel economy make it a great car for the city as well as for high way usage.
2. Smooth Automatic Gearbox
Unlike the outgoing model which came with a jerky AMT gearbox, the new Vitara Brezza now gets a 4-speed torque converter unit which is quick and smooth with shifts.
3. Complaint Suspension Setup
The overall suspension setup gives a great balance between ride-and-handling. The slow-speed ride is comfortable while the high-speed stability too is impressive.
4. Extensive Features List
The car gets a number of features such as LED headlights, auto wipers, cruise control, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, etc.
5. Excellent After-Sales Service
We all are well versed with the after-sales support provided by Maruti Suzuki India. In fact, the Brezza is one of the most affordable and dependable cars in the segment.
Cons
1. No Diesel Engine!
Yes, you read it right, there is no diesel engine on offer with the Brezza. The older 1.3-L DDiS engine was not upgraded to meet the upcoming BS6 norms by Fiat leaving Maruti with no choice but to discontinue the diesel-powered models from its line-up.
2. Small Boot
While the boot is wide and boxy, the overall capacity of the boot is not impressive. The car gets 328 litres of boot space which happens to be the second smallest boot size in the segment.
3. Not So Responsive Engine
While the refinement levels of this new engine are impressive, the overall response to the throttle inputs could have been better. Hardcore driving enthusiasts will not appreciate the response from the engine is it is extremely uninvolving to drive.

4. Dated 4-Speed AT
While the new automatic gearbox is smooth and quick, it is extremely old now. The market has moved on to better and more modern gearboxes and the brand should consider replacing this gearbox with a better unit. It is also worth noting that there are no paddle shifters on manual mode on offer with this gearbox.
5. Missing Features
While the features list of the vehicle is long, there are few important features which are missing from the package. For starters, features like six airbags, sunroof, leather seats, seat ventilation, etc are missing. In addition to this, the car also misses out on features like wireless charging.
