Maruti has commenced the bookings of their recently launched mid-size SUV, the 2022 Grand Vitara. The bookings for the same has reached over 57,000 mark and the numbers are still rising. The Grand Vitara is priced from Rs 10.45 lakh and goes all the way to Rs 19.65 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
Under the hood, Grand Vitara gets two engine options - 1.5L mild hybrid and 1.5L strong hybrid. The former is the same motor as found in the XL6 and it generates 102 bhp of power with a peak torque of 136.8 Nm. It gets mated to a five-speed manual gearbox as standard and a six-speed torque converter automatic as an option.
Here, the SUV is equipped with FWD set-up as standard but Maruti also provides AWD configuration as an option too. However, the AWD is limited with the 1.5L mild-hybrid set-up and gets mated to the stick shift gearbox only.

The other motor, the 1.5L strong hybrid is the talking point of the SUV. This three-cylinder motor sourced from Toyota delivers an excellent fuel economy of 27.97 kmpl, which is the first in the segment. It churns out a peak power and torque of 114 bhp and 122 Nm, respectively and gets mated to eCVT unit.
Feature-wise, Grand Vitara gets a panoramic sunroof, head-up display, 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cooled ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, 360-view camera and more.
