India's largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki was the first to bring in the budget cars with a BS6 engine. And come 2020, Maruti Suzuki will be showcasing a list of vehicles, new and current, at the Auto Expo.
Here, in this article, we will be sharing the details of the upcoming cars and also the facelift of the existing models:
Maruti Suzuki Ignis Facelift
The facelift of the crossover looking hatchback from Maruti will be seen at the 2020 Auto Expo. The front design, 'tooth grille' is inspired by the recently launched S-Presso. The rear will see an addition of reflectors on either end of the bumper.
Under the hood, the Ignis will get a BS6 compliant, 1.2-litre, petrol engine. It will produce the same 83 PS of power with a peak torque of 113 Nm. A 5-speed manual transmission along with an AMT is expected. The ARAI certified fuel efficiency is expected to be the same too.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Facelift
The biggest change once the facelifted Brezza is introduced will be under the hood. The sub-4-metre compact SUV will ditch the oil burner for a BS6 compliant, 1.5-litre petrol engine. The latter is already found on the Ertiga and XL6.
With the facelift, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will sport some exterior and interior changes. This will include a refreshed front design with new bumper and the grille. We can also expect new alloy wheels design and the rear profile will see some tweaks too to the bumper.
BS6 Engine line up
Almost all the cars present in the Maruti's portfolio will see a BS6 upgrade. The 1.2L and 1.5L petrol engine will see BS6 upgrades. The company will ditch the diesel engine as of now and if demand persists then they will launch the BS6 version of the 1.5L DDiS diesel engine.
The BS6 engine line up includes Alto K10, S-Presso, Ignis, Ciaz, Brezza, Celerio, S-Cross and Celerio X. Mind you, with the up-gradation of these cars to the BS6 engine, the prices will be increased by a certain bit for all of these cars.

Maruti XL5
Basically, this will be Nexa's entry-level hatchback which is based on the popular selling, WagonR and will be seen at the 2020 Auto Expo. As of now, the design of the upcoming XL5 has not been revealed by the manufacturer but the spy shots reveal that it will get a refreshed design all over.
The spy shots revealed a new pair of headlights and taillights along with the new front grille. We can expect split headlight design like LED DRLs placed on top and headlights at the lower part from Maruti. Under the hood, it is expected to remain the same just like the WagonR. It will use a 1.2-litre, BS6 compliant petrol engine which produces 83 PS and 113 Nm of peak torque.
Maruti Suzuki WagonR EV
Its been long that the wait for the WagonR EV is on the list by various buyers. And several spy shots for the same have been surfacing on the internet. We expect that the WagonR EV will be launched by Maruti at the 2020 Auto Expo.
One of the main reasons why Maruti has been delaying the launch of the WagonR EV is because of the lack of charging infrastructure. Also, the high cost of batteries was pulling back the manufacturer for launching the car. Performance wise, we expect Maruti to give a driving range of 150-200 km, which is sufficient for city driving.
Maruti Suzuki Futuro-E
The next-line line electric car from the manufacturer will be an electric SUV. They will showcase the electric SUV concept at the 2020 Auto Expo as they will pitch themselves as future ready.
We have already seen the Tata Nexon EV which will be launched soon, other in line will be an electric Mahindra XUV300. So this will help the manufacturer to keep up with its competition.
