Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has expanded its S-CNG lineup with two premium products of NEXA, the Baleno and the XL6. Now, the XL6 is the brand's premium MPV with factory-installed CNG, while the Baleno is the first premium hatchback with a CNG kit available on the market. While only the Zeta model of the XL6 CNG will be offered, the Baleno S-CNG is available in both Delta and Zeta versions. The starting price of the CNG Baleno is Rs. 8.28 lakh (ex-showroom), while the CNG XL6 is Rs. 12.24 lakh (ex-showroom).
Maruti Suzuki Baleno & XL6 S-CNG - Pricing
The Delta and Zeta variants of the Baleno S-CNG are available for Rs 8.28 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 9.21 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. In the base Sigma and top-spec Alpha trims of the Baleno, Maruti does not offer the CNG powertrain. The XL6 S-CNG, on the other hand, is only offered in the Zeta variant and is priced at Rs. 12.24 lakh (ex-showroom). The CNG powertrain is not available for the Alpha model.

Maruti Suzuki Subscribe also offers the option to purchase the Baleno S-CNG and XL6 S-CNG for an all-inclusive monthly subscription cost starting at Rs. 18,403 and Rs. 30,821, respectively.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno S-CNG - Specifications
The Baleno S-CNG is equipped with a 1.2-litre bi-fuel engine. The engine is able to produce 76 bhp of power in CNG mode and 89 bhp of power in petrol mode, while the torque output is 98.5 Nm in CNG mode and 113 Nm in petrol mode. The engine is available with a 5-speed manual transmission only. According to the company claims, the Baleno S-CNG can deliver a fuel efficiency of 30.61 km/kg.

Additionally, the Baleno S-CNG will be the only premium CNG hatchback vehicle to provide customers with a 6-airbags configuration. In-built Suzuki Connect with 40+ connected features, a 7-inch Smart Play Pro touch-infotainment system with on-board voice assistance, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a MID display with CNG-specific screens, LED Projector headlamps, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, and many other features will be available in the Baleno's CNG variant.
Maruti Suzuki XL6 S-CNG - Specifications
A 1.5-litre bi-fuel petrol engine powers the XL6 S-CNG. In CNG mode, the engine can generate 87 bhp of power and 121.5 Nm of torque, while in petrol mode, it can generate 99 bhp of power and 136 Nm of maximum torque. Additionally, a 5-speed manual transmission is paired with this engine. According to the manufacturer, the XL6 CNG has a fuel efficiency of 26.32 km/kg.

The XL6 CNG comes with 40+ connected features built into Suzuki Connect, including remote functions, a 7-inch SmartPlay studio infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, Cruise Control, LED DRLs, etc. The XL6 S-CNG is equipped with a number of safety features, including f four airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, ESP with Hill hold, LED front fog lamps, a sturdy HEARTECT Platform, and more.
Verdict: With the introduction of the Baleno & XL6 S-CNG, Maruti Suzuki now offers 12 CNG models. Customers who are searching for a reliable CNG car with premium amenities will be attracted to the Baleno CNG, while premium MPV buyers will be attracted by the XL6 CNG.
