Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara S-CNG Launched at Rs. 12.85 Lakh

• Maruti Suzuki launches the Grand Vitara CNG in India.

• Priced in the range of Rs. 12.85 lakh to Rs. 14.84 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) today launched the Grand Vitara S-CNG in the domestic market. At a starting price of Rs. 12.85 lakh (ex-showroom), the mid-size SUV is available in two variants and will be sold through the brand's premium NEXA dealership chain. The Grand Vitara is the first vehicle in the mid-size SUV segment to get a CNG fuel option along with being the 14th CNG car in the Maruti's stable.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara S-CNG: Price

As mentioned earlier, the Grand Vitara S-CNG is available in two trims, i.e. the Delta and Zeta. The former is priced at Rs. 12.85 lakh (ex-showroom), while the latter will set you back by Rs. 14.84 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara S-CNG: Powertrain

The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara S-CNG is propelled by the familiar 1.5 litre K15C Dual-Jet, Dual-VVT petrol engine, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The power output from the motor stands at 87.83 bhp and 121.5 Nm of peak torque in the CNG mode. When switched to the petrol mode, the figures go up to 100 bhp and 136 Nm of peak torque. The four-wheeler returns a claimed mileage of 26.6 kg/km. For reference, the Grand Vitara is also offered in a petrol mild hybrid and a strong hybrid powertrain.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said Since its launch in September 2022, the Grand Vitara has received a resounding response from Indian consumers, thanks to its SUV appeal complimented by multiple future-ready powertrains. The introduction of the S-CNG option further expands the appeal of the Grand Vitara.

Verdict: With the launch of the Grand Vitara CNG, Maruti Suzuki has further strengthened its presence in the CNG car space. Being the 14th CNG model in the brand's portfolio, the Grand Vitara has started the bandwagon of CNG-powered SUVs in the Indian market.
