Maruti Suzuki: Multiple Powertrain Alternatives Anticipated by 2031
Currently, all Arena models come with an option for an alternative CNG variant. This applies to both the 1.2-litre and 1.5-litre engines, which are paired with manual gearboxes. Looking ahead, Maruti Suzuki has ambitious plans: they expect 25 per cent of their sales to come from hybrid vehicles and over 60 per cent from ICE vehicles (Internal Combustion Engine). The ICE vehicles will be equipped to run on various fuels, such as CNG, biogas, flex fuel, and ethanol-blended fuel.
Moreover, by the projected year 2031, approximately 15% of Maruti Suzuki's total sales are expected to be represented by battery-operated cars.
