Maruti Suzuki S-Cross
Maruti introduced the S-Cross in 2015 as its foray into the premium automobile sector with just a diesel engine. Back then, the S-Cross offered two diesel engines: a 1.3-liter engine and a 1.6-liter engine. After a few years, Maruti Suzuki stopped selling diesel engines in India and began selling exclusively petrol and CNG engines. With a petrol engine paired with a five-speed manual and a four-speed torque convertor automatic transmission, Maruti Suzuki re-released the S-Cross in 2020.
Maruti has been testing the Baleno Cross, a new SUV that could eventually replace the S-Cross in the Indian market. The Baleno Cross SUV will ride on the same platform as the 2022 Baleno and the new Brezza. This implies that it may include the identical 1.5-litre K15C engine with mild and full hybrid technology. Maruti Suzuki may employ a 1.0-liter Boosterjet engine in the next Baleno Cross, according to certain rumors.
