MG Confirms Launch Of Hector Plus 7 Seater In January

MG made its debut last year with the Hector and as of now, they have four products in the Indian market - Hector, ZS EV, Hector Plus and the flagship Gloster. It is clear that MG is focusing on the SUV market as of now and what's new is that the brand confirms the launch of Hector Plus 7 seater for next month. Yes, along with the launch of Hector facelift, a 7-seater version of the Hector Plus will also be launched.

MG launched Hector Plus a few months ago and it first came with a 6-seater version. However, the Toyota Innova Crysta rival will now come in a 7-seater avatar which means the captain seats in the middle will be replaced with a bench.

Mechanically, the Hector Plus 7-seater will be offered with the same set of engines. The 1.5-litre petrol, the same with a mild-hybrid setup and the powerful 2.-litre FCA sourced diesel engine. The latter delivers 168 bhp with a peak torque of 350 Nm. A 6-speed manual comes as a standard across all the engines. An optional DCT unit comes with 1.5-litre normal petrol.

Feature-wise, it will continue with the panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, internet connectivity, 10.4-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be observed. Also, the safety features continue with a tyre pressure monitoring system, all-wheel disc brakes, front parking sensors, six airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, 360-degree camera and among others.

We can expect the 7-seater Hector Plus to be priced above the 6-seater version. The 6-seater Hector Plus starts at Rs 13.74 lakh and the top model fetches till Rs 19.69 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Once launched, the Hector Plus 7-seater will rival with the Mahindra XUV500, Tata Harrier and the Toyota Innova Crysta facelift.
