Battery and Powertrain
The Cyberster will be MG's third car in India to feature rear-wheel drive, and it also comes in an all-wheel drive trim. A lesser-spec 64kWh battery pack variant, also with rear-wheel drive does exist. However, MG has not confirmed exactly which one will be coming here.
Both variants feature a 77kWh battery pack, but they differ in terms of power and range figures, obviously. The RWD variant, the Trophy, gets a single electric motor producing 335bhp and 475Nm of torque, with a 0-100kmph time of 5 seconds and a claimed top speed of 194kmph. In terms of range, the RWD Cyberster can cover a WLTP-claimed 508km on a single charge.
The all-wheel drive variant, known as the GT, comes with two electric motors, one placed on each axle. Together, this setup produces 502bhp and 725Nm of torque, with a claimed 0-100kmph time of 3.2 seconds and a claimed top speed of 201kmph. The Cyberster GT's focus on performance gives it slightly lesser range, with a WLTP-claimed 444km on offer.
MG claims that these battery packs can be topped up from 10-80% in 38 minutes via a 150kW DC fast charger. However, MG will also offer a normal charging option as well, details of which shall be known soon.

Design
The Cyberster has been showcased in India earlier this year, and it remains largely unchanged since then. MG says that the Cyberster draws inspiration from the MGB roadster that used to be around in the 1960s. The coupe design is anyway not too common on our roads, and there is no doubt that the Cyberster will stand out on Indian roads.
Being an EV, the Cyberster does not get a grille up front. However, it does receive large air dams lower down, and the front bumper itself gets a sculpted design treatment that appears similar to what we see on high-end performance cars.
The profile of the car is also rather smooth and features flared arches for a more purposeful stance. The Cyberster's party trick will be the scissor-doors, which is also something not seen too commonly on our roads. The rear-wheel drive variant will come fitted with 19-inch alloy wheels, while the all-wheel drive variant will come shod on 20-inch wheels with more aerodynamic-looking alloy rims.
The rear of the Cyberster also looks unique, with swollen arches to add to its stance. The arrow shaped tail lights will certainly grab a lot of attention, and they also mesh panels behind them, similar to certain high-end sportscars. It makes use of modern design trends too, with a full-length LED strip running above the arrow-shaped tail lights. Lower down, the Cyberster bumpers receive a diffuser-like treatment, but given its EV powertrain, there is no exhaust pipe sticking out.

Interiors and Features
The Cyberster's interiors will be quite the talking point as well; the cockpit of the car features a three-screen layout with a wraparound effect; a 10.25-inch digital cluster, with two 7-inch display screens on either side, focused towards the driver, mimicking the look of a gaming setup. The infotainment touch screen is placed on the centre console, and next to it is a rather stylish looking drive selector panel.
Some of the features the Cyberster will be equipped with includes dual-zone climate control, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, voice commands, a 360-degree camera, launch control, and smartphone connectivity. As with most MG cars, the Cyberster will also come with an ADAS suite as well.
The Cyberster will be the first of MG's four new cars to be launched here, under the new MG Select sub-brand, with the other cars also expected to be launched here by 2026. The car maker will also open 12 new MG Select outlets in 12 different cities.
Verdict
MG's Cyberster will have no direct rivals at launch, and it will enjoy a rather unique positioning in the market, since there aren't too many coupes in the market today. This electric coupe will be brought in as a CBU, and we can expect it to be priced between Rs 70-80 lakh before import duties.
