MG Motor entered the Indian market last year and has launched two all-new SUVs till now. With the popularity of SUVs growing in the market, MG is expected to continue to follow the SUV strategy in the Indian market in the coming time. The MG Gloster will be on sale in 2020 and will take on the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour in the Indian market.
The MG Gloster will be showcased on 5th February 2020, on the first day of the Auto Expo. The car is already on sale in the Chinese as well as the Australian markets under the Maxus and the LDV brands respectively. In India, it may get a different production name but it has not been confirmed by the officials yet.
The teaser image released officially by MG shows the front chrome grille of the vehicle. The grille will be similar to the Hector and we will get to see a lot of chrome in the car. The image indicates that the vehicle will also offer a chrome beltline and door handles just like the Hector.
The all-new MG Gloster will get customised for the Indian market and changes will be made to suit the Indian market. We will get to see a different set of alloy wheels and a few changes in the cabin too.
The MG Gloster looks bold in the teaser image. It is built on a ladder frame and measures a massive 5,005mm that makes it longer than the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. In fact, the vehicle is longer than the Toyota Land Cruiser LC200! Similar to the Hector, this too will become the biggest car in the segment and will be extremely imposing on the roads.
Just like any other MG vehicle, the Gloster will offer a long list of features including LED headlamps, LED DRLs, panoramic sunroof, heated wing mirrors, gesture-controlled tailgate, ambient lights, connected infotainment system, 360-degree camera and more. Even the seats may offer massage function.
In the international markets, the vehicle gets a 2.0-litre petrol engine but in India, we may get to see the 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged engine that produces a maximum of 218 PS and 480 Nm. It is expected to get a price tag of around Rs 35 lakhs!
