There was a lot of buzz around the MG Windsor EV, due to its price tag and MG's new 'Battery As A Service' scheme. While we shall go over that later briefly, MG Motor India has finally announced the prices of all variants of the Windsor EV inclusive of the battery pack.

MG Windsor EV: Prices of All Variants
The Windsor EV is available in three different variants; Excite, Exclusive, and Essence. Prices begin from Rs 13.49 lakh for the Excite variant, while the Exclusive and the Essence variants can be had from Rs 14.49 and Rs 15.49 lakh respectively (all prices ex-showroom).
This is different from the initial price announcement, which specified that the price of the vehicle begins from Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom), without the cost of battery. Instead, buyers would have to pay an additional cost of Rs 3.5 per km for the battery, as per the car maker's new 'Battery As A Service' (BaaS) scheme.

MG Windsor EV: What Does It Get?
The Windsor EV comes with a front-axle electric motor, backed by a 38kWh battery pack, with a claimed range of 331km on a single charge. The electric motor produces 134bhp and 200Nm of torque. Customers get one year of free fast-charging access at MG's eHub facilities. It also comes with either a 3.3kW or a 7.4kW AC fast charging setup.
Some of the features on offer include a 9-speaker audio system, a 135-degree reclining rear bench, a 15.6-inch infotainment touch screen, 360-degree camera, rear A/C vents, power-adjustable ventilated front seats, 80+ connected features with 100+ AI-based voice controls, ambient lighting, and ADAS among other things.

Verdict
The MG Windsor EV focuses on comfort, and while these prices inclusive of the battery pack are a little on the higher side, they will make sense to people who drive longer distances, as the BaaS scheme may end up making you a pay a bit more than you signed up for.
