As the Creta rival from the Maruti-Toyota alliance is getting ready for launch, here is our article covering the latest information on this upcoming SUV.
What engines will be on offer?
There will be two types of engines on offer. For the lower variants on both vehicles, there will be the Suzuki-sourced K15 engine with dualjet technology. This engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter in the automatic guise and is expected to get mild-hybrid technology as well. For the higher variants, a strong hybrid engine sourced from Toyota is expected to be there. This engine too is going to have a displacement of 1.5 liters. The combined power output for this setup is rated at 116 PS and will be mated to an E-CVT gearbox ( similar to one on the Honda City Hybrid ).

What will be the name of these SUVs?
While Toyota has already revealed that its mid-size SUV will be christened as the Urban Cruiser HyRyder, nothing has been confirmed yet for the Suzuki version. Rumours are strife that their version will either be named the S-Cross or the Vitara. The latter is more likely to happen as the Vitara nameplate has been dropped from the Brezza facelift that will launch on 30th June.
What will be the rivals for these SUVs
This Creta rival from Maruti and Toyota will also go up against the likes of the Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Nissan Kicks, and MG Astor in terms of size. In terms of the price, it will compete with certain variants of the newly launched ScorpioN and also with certain variants of the Tata Harrier.
