New EV Norms In Details
As per the sources, the new EV policy will soon be implied. The told estimated time range relies on the upcoming 2-3 weeks. Additionally, the implication of these new rules will lead to a more safe and more secure EV manufacturing. In the recent past, EV fire-related incidents have pushed the government to take a step ahead and change the safety narrative.
Meanwhile, the new policy will include a set of "conformity of production CoP" regulations. These regulations have a set of standard test operations. According to the government, the concerned authorities can randomly pick any battery sample from an EV maker. This sample is then subjected to the CoP tests. If the manufacturer fails to match the rules, further legal action will be carried forward. However, there is no such protocol right now.
Additionally, the government is also going to introduce a set of new rules for EV manufacturing. As per the source, the notification of the new rules is soon going to get delivered to all of the EV makers in India. Additionally, the EV makers have received a heads up of around 1 month to make the necessary changes. However, if any manufacturer does not comply with the new rules; the result is evidently visible.
Meanwhile, EVs like Tata Nexon EV Max have started to get stronger. The sales volume of the two-wheelers like the Ather 450X has become a testimony to the fact that EVs are the real future of automobiles.
