The all-new Hero Xpulse 200T has been launched in India. Based on the Xpulse ADV, the new 200T gets some major changes to it including a new engine & design. Launched at a price of Rs 1.26 lakh; we tell you its top 5 highlights and changes. Read the details below.
New Hero Xpulse 200T - Engine
The first and major change in the new 200T is its engine. Hero has bid goodbye to the old 2V engine on it. The all-new 200 4V engine has been carried forward from the Xpulse 200 4V. With that, the new engine produces more power & torque than the outgoing one. It is the same 200cc, single-cylinder engine but now it makes 18.8 bhp of peak power & 17.3 Nm of peak torque. These figures are 0.7 bhp & 0.2 Nm more than the previous engine. A new engine also means better top-end performance and hence better cruising capability. However, the gearbox remains the same 5-speed unit.
New Design
Hero has refreshed the design of the new Xpulse 200T. To give it a more premium appeal, it now has a lower-placed headlight with a cowl. Additionally, the bike now comes with a tubular pillion grab rail. Meanwhile, the front of the old bike has been refreshed with a front fork gaiter kit. Due to the addition of these and new graphics, the all-new 200T now looks more fresh & appealing than before. However, there are no major changes to the base of the design like the chassis & the riding position. Hero has also included a new single-seat cover on the updated 200T.
New Colours
Other revisions include the new paint schemes on the updated 200T. Hero is now offering the refreshed bike with three different colour options. These options include - Sports Red, Matte Shield Gold, & Funk Lime Yellow. Additionally, these colours are in good contrast with the blacked-out engine components of the bike. The new 200T also uses multi-spoke alloy wheels which are also painted in the black shade.
New Features
In addition to all of the above changes, the new 200T also gets revised features. The first addition is the USB phone charger. However, its placement is at an awkward place i.e. underneath the seat. The placement of it limits the usage of the phone while charging but helps in protecting the phone on the go. Additionally, the 200T now gets an LCD display with Bluetooth connectivity. Moreover, it now also features step-by-step navigation on the LCD display. Meanwhile, the front headlight is now carried from the 200 4V ADV hence it is LED and the throw of it is brighter than the previous model. Hero has also provided a big bash plate on the new 200T to prevent the engine from getting damaged on off-road trails.
New Specifications
Hero has also revised the specifications of the new 200T. The front suspension now gets 37mm telescopic forks. These forks now offer more travel than the outgoing model. However, the rear suspension remains the same. It is a monoshock suspension with a 7-step adjustable layout. Meanwhile, the rest of the motorcycle is largely unchanged. It runs on 17-inch alloy wheels and tubeless tyres. Additionally, the braking system includes a 276mm front and 230mm rear disc brake.
Verdict
The all-new Hero Xpulse 200T offers a mix of better tech and performance. Hero has tried to iron out the odds of the older motorcycle via the update. However, the competition rivals have also updated themselves by offering better tech. Its main rivals include - Bajaj Pulsar NS 200, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, & Honda Hornet 2.0.
