2023 Mahindra XUV500 Details
As the Scorpio N & XUV700 have been a huge success for the company, there is an empty space between them & the XUV300. However, the XUV500 brand is the one that can fill this space profoundly. The photo shared by Mr. Pratap is of an SUV standing somewhere inside a closed compound. The model is covered but some of its design details are visible through this. The first thing to note is its size of it. Seems like this upcoming SUV will be smaller than the XUV700. Hence, we can speculate that it will rival the Hyundai Creta & Tata Harrier when launched.
Meanwhile, the side profile of the design gets large fender flares. The body shoulder lines and the overall curves of it make it look bulky & mean in the true Mahindra fashion. Additionally, the rear end gets an upright-set boot lid with a hung-back design. This rear design seems to be inspired by the BE 05 electric SUV concept that the company showcased a few weeks back.
Analyzing the design, it seems that the testing phase of this SUV is not far away. However, we can't claim anything sure-footed until any official info comes from the company. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see how its rivals will prepare themselves for the strong fight. As it has become a mandate nowadays, the new XUV500 will get the latest features like the ADAS, ambient lights, voice commands, etc. Meanwhile, we think that Mahindra might use the 1.5-Lt turbo-diesel & 1.2-lt turbo-petrol engines from the XUV300 on it. But these engines will get more power for sure. However, the XUV700s engine lineup use into it can also be not ruled out.
Verdict
The XUV500 brand name has proven to be iconic for Mahindra. However, the competition has now become segregated among the various SUVs. Hence, Mahindra's hard work over the new compact but masculine XUV500 seems apt. We think that this SUV will debut in the second half of 2023. However, its pricing will definitely remain lower than the XUV700.
