Skoda previewed the new upcoming Karoq that will virtually launch this November 30
Skoda has previewed the new Karoq SUV, thereby, continuing with its slew of new launches. This new SUV is expected to capitalize on the rising popularity and dependability of the MQB A0 IN platform. This versatile platform is has been developed to cater to Indian-specific models, examples of which are the new Slavia, and Kushaq SUV. The upcoming 2021 Karoq will be virtually launched this November. Below are the key takeaways from the virtual launch:
New Sleek Design
The new Skoda Karoq will boast of a new exterior body design, but will retain the same muscular proportions. Both the headlight and taillight unit will be LED units, with new design. There's a new golden exterior colour on offer. The bumpers have also been redesigned with body cladding, along with roof rails, a high shoulder line, and off-road styled rear fenders, and a completely new alloy-wheel design.

4X4
The Skoda Karoq will come equipped with a 4X4 drivetrain configuration, and this is pretty self-evident with the 4X4 badge at the back. Thus, the upcoming Skoda Karoq will be the only four-wheel-drive configuration vehicle in the brand's line-up.
Karoq Engine and Transmission Options
The upcoming Skoda Karoq is expected to have the same powertrain configuration offered with the Taigun GT. This means it will be powered by either a 1.0L TSI or a 1.5L TSI. Both of these engines will come mated to either a 6-speed manual/ automatic transmission or the 7-speed DSG.
Prices and Competiton
Before it was discontinued due to BS6 norms, the Skoda Karoq was priced at Rs. 29.05 lakh (ex-showroom price, Delhi). But since the new model will receive significant updates, expect the prices to increase as well. When launched, it will compete against the Hyundai Tucson, and Volkswagen Tiguan All-Space.
