Nissan Magnite Facelift Launch On October 4th: What To Expect
Nissan reintroduced the X-Trail to the Indian market in August after a lengthy drought. Now, attention shifts to the upcoming Nissan Magnite facelift, with Nissan announcing an event for October 4. Spy shots have already shown the updated sub-four-meter SUV undergoing testing without camouflage at a crash facility. The Magnite facelift has also been seen on the roads, offering early insights into the new features and design changes set to be revealed at the event.
The updated model, seen at the Bharat NCAP crash test facility, is expected to feature a refreshed front grille, a revised bumper, and new headlight designs. Inside, the 2024 Magnite will likely sport new trims and updated seat upholstery, with potential additions including ventilated front seats and a single-pane sunroof.
The refreshed model is also expected to offer a 9-inch touchscreen (as seen in the current Geza edition), a 7-inch digital driver display, and a wireless phone charger. For safety, the Magnite will continue to offer six airbags as standard, along with a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and ISOFIX child seat anchorages.

Engine Details
The upcoming Nissan Magnite will retain its current engine lineup, featuring a 1.0-liter petrol engine in two versions: a naturally aspirated variant delivering 72hp and 96Nm of torque, and a turbocharged option producing 100hp and 160Nm of torque. Transmission choices will remain the same, including a 5-speed manual, CVT, and AMT, ensuring that customers continue to have familiar and reliable options.
While the pricing is not revealed, expected to slightly adjust in accordance with the incoming updates where it will continue its tussle against rivals like Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, and others in the compact SUV category.
Verdict
The Nissan X-trail is here to share the burden from the shoulders of Magnite, and the compact SUV can now have some breathing room and can experiment and spread its wings to woo the customers. Earlier, it was cruical for the Magnite to tick all the boxes along with an attractive pricing. While it may get a slight price adjustment, it is expected to still be one of the most affordable in the segemnt.
