Nissan India presently provides just one vehicle in its range, the Magnite. This sub-4 meter SUV, the Magnite, is well-equipped and reasonably priced, delivering excellent value for money. It currently offers two engine options: a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, available with manual and CVT transmissions. The brand is set to introduce a new transmission choice for the Magnite in the form of an easy-shift AMT unit.

Nissan Magnite AMT Coming Soon
The Magnite currently presents a choice of two engines and two transmission types. The CVT transmission is already known for its reliability and smooth performance. Nissan is now poised to enhance the Magnite's appeal even further by introducing a more cost-effective automatic transmission option through the introduction of an AMT gearbox. However, it's worth noting that the Renault Kiger, a sibling of the Magnite, already offers an AMT transmission for the 1.0-liter NA petrol engine, while the Magnite currently exclusively offers a manual gearbox for the NA engine.
The addition of an AMT gearbox for the 1.0-liter NA petrol engine will attract more customers to the brand who seek an automatic transmission vehicle but prefer not to opt for a turbocharged petrol engine. The 1.0-liter NA petrol engine in the Magnite produces 71 bhp of power and 96 Nm of peak torque. When paired with a manual transmission, this engine offers a mileage of 18.75 kmpl. On the other hand, the 1.0-liter turbo engine delivers 98 bhp of power and 160 Nm of torque with a manual transmission, and 152 Nm of torque with a CVT gearbox. The turbocharged unit boasts an efficiency rating of 20 kmpl.

The Magnite boasts a good number of features, including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, a 7-inch digital cluster, rear AC vents, an air filter, and a height-adjustable driver's seat, 360-degree camera among various other amenities.
Verdict
The current price range for the Nissan Magnite is between Rs 5.99 lakh and Rs 11.02 lakh (ex-showroom). With the introduction of the AMT option, the prices for that specific variant might see an increase of Rs 60,000 to Rs 80,000 for the NA petrol engine choice. This addition of the AMT option aims to cater to customers seeking an AMT gearbox paired with a NA petrol engine. The Magnite faces competition from rivals such as the Tata Punch, Citroen C3, and Hyundai Exter.
