Nissan has recently released the teaser of its upcoming SUV, the X-Trail in India. The SUV was first showcased in India two years back in November 2022. Through the new teaser, the company has officially announced that the SUV will be launched in India soon. The upcoming X-Trail will position itself in the premium SUV segment in India, rivalling popular SUV such as Hyundai Tucson, Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan. Nissan X-Trail Exterior
In the recently released teaser, the X-Trail SUV was shown with two other other upcoming models of Nissan, Qashqai and Juke SUVs. Apart from this, the teaser highlights some of the key design elements of the upcoming X-Trail which include split headlamps, a new grille with chrome treatment and horizontal slats, LED DRLs and a front camera.
The upcoming three-row SUV will also get wraparound two-piece taillights and contrast-coloured skid plates. Other features of the SUV include a rear wiper and washer, an integrated spoiler with a high-mounted stop lamp, dual-tone alloy wheels and a shark-fin antenna.
Nissan X-Trail Interior
The Nissan X-Trail will get dual-tone upholstery, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and automatic climate control. Some other drive-related features of the X-Trail include a three-spoke multi-functional steering, a 10.8-inch digital instrument console, an electronic parking brake, an ADAS suite and an auto-hold function.
Powertrain
The upcoming Nissan X-Trail will source its power from a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine coupled with an electric motor. Transmission options will include a sole CVT gearbox. This powerhouse is capable of generating 201 bhp of power and 330 Nm of torque. The upcoming Nissan will also get an AWD option with the e-Power hybrid variant which uses the same hybrid setup. In the higher state of tuning, the X-Trail will generate 210 bhp of power and 500 Nm of torque.
Expected Price and Rivals
The X-Trail is expected to land on Indian shores with a price tag of Rs. 26 lakh, going up to 32 lakh. Once launched, the three-row SUV will go against the likes of the BYD Atto 3, MG Cloud EV and Hyundai Tucson.
