Tata Motors showcased the ICE-powered concept Curvv at the 2023 auto expo. The EV version of the Curvv was unveiled on April 2022. Tata Motors plans to bring the Curvv to Indian roads by 2024. However, recently a camouflaged version of Tata Curvv was captured during its road testing. This means Tata Motors has started the testing of the production version of Curvv and they might easily be able to match up to their plan of bringing the coupe-SUV to Indian roads by mid-2024.
What To Expect From Tata Curvv?
The Tata Curvv will be the first mass-market coupe-design SUV in India. Likely to rival the like of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, MG Astor, etc, the Tata Curvv will stand out from the crowd due to its design. The design of the Curvv will be almost similar to what we saw in the 2023 auto expo. According to Tata, the ICE-powered Curvv showcased at the 2023 auto expo was almost 80 to 90 percent production-ready version.
Also, the production version of Tata Curvv is expected to get unique design elements like an LED light bar running across the front and rear widths of the SUV, large 17 or 18-inch alloys, a sloping roofline at the rear with an integrated rear spoiler, uniquely placed air ducts/air curtains on the bonnet and C-pillar, and door mounted ORVMs.
On the inside, the Tata Curvv is expected to get Tata's newly introduced 10.24-inch large touchscreen infotainment system with 8 speaker audio setup, a 7-inch instrument cluster display, minimal buttons on the dashboard, auto-dimming IRVM, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, electronic parking brake with auto hold, a sunroof, a new design steering wheel, etc.
Moreover, Tata Curvv is expected to first come in an EV avatar and later on with the ICE powertrain. The ICE-powered Tata Curvv is expected to be offered with Tata's newly introduced 1.2 litre TGDi petrol engine paired with a 5 or 6-speed manual gearbox & a 6-speed DCT/DCA automatic transmission which is currently present on the Altroz DCA. The EV avatar of Curvv is expected to get Tata's more efficient next-gen Ziptron powertrain.
