Royal Enfield Scram 450 has started taking shape as a test mule has been captured in the lens. The upcoming bike features a radical modern design.
- Features a radical design with a modern layout
- Gets a new chassis, new engine, & new mechanical components
- Likely to debut by next year-end
Royal Enfield is planning to introduce a brand-new engine. This is suspected to be a 450cc, single-cylinder unit. Meanwhile, this engine will also bring along a new plethora of products. One such product includes the Scram 450 and Himalayan 450 ADV. However, the ADV has already been teased officially but the Scram was still unknown; until now. The recent spy shots incoming from Europe show the design and technicals of the 450 Scram. Read the details below.

RE Scram 450 Details
As we know that RE is planning for an extensive launch of the 450 segment soon; Scram will be one of its main products. The spied bike looks nowhere close to any modern RE model. It seems that RE has dropped its neo-retro design for the Scram. Apart from the round headlight, nothing else in the bike looks retro. It is based on an upright riding style with a large sculpted fuel tank. Additionally, the LED headlight has a DRL and the indicators are also similar to the ones seen on Himalayan 450 test mules in India. The LED indicators are well supported by LED taillight.
Meanwhile, the bike consists of alloy wheels that seem to be the same size (probably 17 inches). The frame on which the bike is based is also completely new. It endorses the 450cc liquid-cooled engine, of which we're hoping to make peak power in the likes of 40 bhp. However, the stats will only be revealed once RE debuts this engine globally next year. Additionally, another interesting detail to notice is the stubby exhaust can. Looks like its placement is to increase agility by enhancing the center of weight in the middle of the bike.
The spied Scram looks like in the middle of its R&D stage, hence, it does not have a speedometer. But, we suspect RE will fit it with an all-new fully digital console. The 450 range is also anticipated to bring radical technology changes to RE's name. This means that Bluetooth connectivity, riding modes, ride by wire, etc. shall make their way into the brand's fleet of 450s.
Verdict
The introduction of a 450cc range will shake up the segment rivals. Bikes like KTM Duke 390 & BMW G310 R will have to face a tough time if RE enters this space. The Scram is one right product only if RE does everything right just as it did with the Hunter 350. However, it won't be anytime sooner before the end of 2023 that we get to see the Scram 450 in flesh. Contrary, we feel that RE will launch the Himalayan 450 before the Scram itself.
