Skoda recently launched its Kushaq in the market available with 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre petrol engines. The carmakers have added a new variant in its range based on the top-spec Style variant which now gets 6 airbags. The Style 1.5 automatic is priced at Rs 17.99 lakhs (ex-showroom) and the 1.0-litre automatic is priced at Rs 16.99 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Skoda Kushaq, when launched, was not available with an option of 6 airbags with automatic transmission. However, the carmaker, after having feedback from its customers, decided to introduce an automatic variant with 6 airbags as an option. There is a possibility that this variant might offer a tyre pressure monitoring system as well.

Skoda Kushaq has been available in four variants - Active, Ambition, Style and Style, with the top-spec model getting 6 airbags. Looking at its competitors, Skoda is offering a good list of features and creature comforts even on its base Active trim due to which the prices might seem a bit more than others. The car competes against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster and the latest MG Astor.

Skoda has played smart with the pricing of the car. Kushaq starts at an aggressive price tag of Rs 10.49 lakhs (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 17.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). The 1.0-litre TSI three-cylinder engine is capable of producing 115 PS of maximum power and 178 Nm of peak torque. Mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The 1.5-litre turbocharged TSI is a four-cylinder engine that can produce 150PS of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque mated to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission.

Skoda has designed and structured the compact SUV keeping in mind the youth. The 1.5-litre is a powerful one ready to fight the roads anytime. This bigger engine comes with active cylinder technology that shuts down two of its cylinders at lower speeds for better fuel efficiency. VW Taigun and Skoda Kushaq share the same specifications and are based on the MQB AO IN platform. It is the first product from the companys 2.0 India project. Expanding its locally-produced portfolio, Skoda is ready to introduce its Slavia in the market which would replace the existing Rapid in the market which will also carry the same engine choices as Kushaq.
