The Hyundai Creta- and VW Taigun-rivalling Skoda Kushaq made its local debut last year, and the compact SUV has been pretty quick with establishing a strong foothold in the market. However, with the onset of the new calendar year, almost every carmaker in the country has announced that their cars will receive a hike in prices. In line with this, Skoda has already announced that it will increase the prices of its Kushaq by Rs 29,000. The starting price now goes up to Rs 10.99 lakh, while the top-spec version now costs Rs 18.19 lakhs (ex-showroom).

The company has decided not to increase the prices of the mid variant, Ambition. The Style variant is now Rs 29,000 more expensive, while the top-spec 1.5-litre variant is Rs 19,000 costlier than before. Prices of the Active base model have gone up by Rs 20,000.
The Skoda Kushaq looks quite modern and aggressive. It is the companys first product to be based on the MQB-A0-IN platform that has especially been designed for our country. Upfront, the car comes with a black finished butterfly grille design, while the headlamps are sleek and edgy with DRLs. The front and rear bumpers get a plastic cladding and a silver-coloured scuff plate. So far, the Skoda Kushaq has been able to give a pretty tough competition to Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and MG Astor.
