Skoda Kylaq Official Mileage Numbers Revealed
While most of the other offerings in the segment come with a diesel engine, Skoda Kylaq skips any diesel mill and comes with a sole petrol engine option. The Skoda Kylaq is equipped with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine, paired with either a six-speed manual or an automatic torque converter transmission. This engine generates 114bhp and 178Nm of torque. In terms of fuel efficiency, the manual variant is rated at 19.68 kmpl, while the automatic version delivers a slightly lower 19.05 kmpl on a single liter of fuel. Notably, this is the same diesel mill that is employed with the Kushaq as well where it takes up slightly more fuel owing to some varying aspects.

The Kylaq marks Skoda's debut in the subcompact SUV segment, packed with a host of premium features. Inside, you'll find an 8-inch digital driver display, a 10-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a wireless phone charger. It also offers auto climate control with rear vents, cruise control, and ventilated front seats for added comfort. For safety, the Kylaq comes standard with 6 airbags, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, a hill hold assist, TPMS, and much more.

Skoda will resume bookings for the entry-level Classic variant of the Kylaq on January 27th, after high demand temporarily paused orders for this popular trim. The Kylaq is available in four variants: Classic, Signature, Signature+, and Prestige, with prices starting at Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The Classic variant focuses on providing essential safety features, including LED lighting, 6 airbags, ESC, and rear parking sensors. However, it keeps the price more accessible by skipping higher-end features like a touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, wireless charging, and a sunroof, which are available in the more premium trims.
Verdict
The Kylaq is a pretty solid product with everything that it offers alongwith the 5 star safety rating that takes its overall appeal to next level. However, as more and more models make their way to the roads and people test it out for themselves, it will attract more buyers with the kind of performance it offers.
