It was at the 2020 Auto Expo that Skoda launched the Octavia RS 245 at a price tag of Rs 36 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. And the bookings for the same started on March 1 and to our surprise, all the units have been sold out by now. Remember, the performance-oriented sedan is only limited to 200 units.

It is a CBU (completely built-up unit) and that's why attracts full import duties which makes it about Rs 10 lakh more expensive than the 2017 Octavia RS. The interested buyers, it seems, did not hesitate to pay for more. The deliveries for the same will start after the lockdown and there's hope for new buyers too as there might be a few withdrawals from the original allocation.
Sharing more details on the Octavia RS 245 then it possesses the same qualities as compared with the European spec model. That means it packs in an additional 15 bhp and 20 Nm of torque from the older RS 230. Also, you also get lower ground clearance which improves the driving dynamics at higher speeds.
Other changes on RS245, when compared with the older RS230, include larger 18-inch alloy wheels, sportier front and rear bumper with a faux diffuser at the rear. The quadra LED headlight design will continue and the all-black interior with red stitching will be carry forwarded.
It also gets a panoramic electric sunroof, nine airbags, Alcantara leather RS upholstery, 12-way electrically adjustable drivers and co-drivers seat, dual-zone climate control, virtual cockpit, LED ambient lighting, handsfree parking, 20.32 cm touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are some of its features.

Like the RS230 Octavia which first came in with 300 units and then an additional of 200 units afterwards due to higher demand, Skoda India will not interest in importing extra units if the demand persists.
Under the hood, the powerful Octavia churns out 245 bhp with 370 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox and power is delivered through front-wheel-drive. The sedan achieves 0-100 sprint in a flat 6.6 seconds while the top speed gets limited to 250 km/h.
