Skoda brought in the Slavia in February 2022 and ever since its launch, it has garnered a fair share of the market for sedans. Similarly, VW is all set to launch Virtus in the upcoming weeks, however, even before its launch, reports suggest that the prices of the upcoming sedan and Skoda Slavia is all set to see a steep hike of Rs 50,000.
Furthermore, both VW Virtus and Skoda Slavia are expected to lose out on some features like wireless charging and the larger 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The latter will now be replaced with an aftermarket Panosonic 8.0-inch unit. With the shortage of semiconductor chips globally, several carmakers have taken a hit.
In other news, Zac Hollis, Director, Sales and Marketing, Skoda India said that they are ramping up the production of the 1.5L TSI Slavia. The current wait time is close to 4 months but they're trying to cut down the waiting time to a mere 2 months which is the same as the 1.0L TSI motor.

The bigger 1.5L TSI motor produces 148 bhp of power with 250 Nm of peak torque. With the Slavia, one gets a 6-speed manual transmission as standard and a 7-speed DSG as an option, the Virtus only receives a 7-speed DSG as standard.
