Skoda India recently launched the Superb facelift along with Koroq and Rapid TSI. Unlike the Karoq, the Superb is available in two trims - Sportline and Laurin & Klement. The latter trim is expensive by Rs 3 lakh over the Sportline. And by Sportline, Skoda nowhere mean a base trim, the Sportline trim comes packed with a lot of features and sporty looks. Should you buy the Skoda Superb Sportline or L&K? Let's answer that!
Talking about how both the variants look from the outside first; in a run-through, you will see a ton of chrome on the L&K and deep black inserts on the Sportline. The Laurin & Klement gets chrome surrounded grille and bumper and L&K badging on the fenders. The L&K comes with dual-tone machine-cut 17-inch alloy wheels and the rear also gets chrome garnish.

The Sportline trim is all sporty. The front of the Superb Sportline gets glossy black finish on the grille and the bumper. The Sportline gets single-tone 17-inch alloy wheels, gloss black window line and boot lid spoiler. The fenders get 'Sportline' badging and rest is same in both the cars.
Coming to the interiors, the L&K gets a dual-tone theme on the interiors with a dual-tone dashboard and lighter shades on the lower part of the bumper. The L&K gets 'Laurin & Klement' inscription and chrome inserts in the cabin to justify the extra money you paid for it. What isn't justified is the old school manual dials in the L&K whereas the cheaper Sportline gets digital virtual cockpit.
But that doesn't mean the L&K lacks features as it gets TPM (Tyre Pressure Monitoring), illuminated Skoda scuff plates, Textile floor mats with Lounge Step, Drive Mode Select, Door-pocket lighting, Power Nap Package for rear seat outer headrests, Skoda umbrellas, Canton Sound System and heated and cooled front seats. All these features are on offer over the Sportline trim.

Talking about the Sportline trim, it offers virtual cockpit, front sports seats with fixed headrests, driver seat memory function and black Alcantara upholstery. Otherwise, both the trims are loaded with standard features like 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, three-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, 8-airbags, electrically lockable front differential, hill-hold control, ASR, etc. No matter whether you buy the Skoda Superb Sportline or L&K, you won't miss any big features.
Powering the Superb is a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine that produces 190 PS and 320 Nm of peak torque paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox. So both the cars are very similar to each other and the L&K carries a little more luxury. Coming straight to the point, the L&K variant makes sense when you need sumptuousness all around and a chauffeur-driven car. But if you are more towards sportiness and thrill, you will be content with the Sportline owing to its sporty looks and sports seats.
