Tata Altroz Fuel Economy Comparison With Its Rivals

Tata Motors recently launched the Altroz, India's safest premium hatchback. As compared to rivals, the car is easier to own too as it is the most affordable of the lot starting at a price of Rs 5.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). In this article, we compare the fuel economy of Tata Altroz with its rivals.

Tata Altroz competes with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, Toyota Glanza and Honda Jazz. While the petrol engine of the Altroz does not feel punchy enough and lacks a little bit of grunt, it is the diesel engine that picked our eye the most. And so does its fuel efficiency. The petrol model of Altroz returns 19.05 km/l and diesel returns 25.11 km/l. All figures stick with ARAI. Do note that the Altroz is not offered with an optional automatic as of now.

The Baleno and the Glanza (re-badged Baleno) both hatchbacks sit at the top in terms of fuel economy. And this can be said because of the lightweight and the availability of SHVS mild hybrid system which further enhances the fuel economy.
