Tata Curvv EV - What To Expect?

As reported online, select Tata EV dealerships have started accepting unofficial bookings of the Curvv EV. The upcoming mid-size coupe SUV is planned for an August 7 launch in India. It will be based on the Acti.EV platform and it is said to become the flagship EV by Tata after its launch. Tata has already showcased the near-production model at the Bharat Mobility Expo earlier this year. The new Curvv EV will be inspired by the Sierra EV design as it will get a big connected LED at the front and vertical LED headlights.

The overall design of Curvv will be unique due to its sloping coupe roof. Additionally, Tata plans to introduce the electric version of Curvv first, followed by the ICE version in the coming months. The ICE model is likely to use an extended platform of Nexon. On the inside, Curvv will share identical features and design with the Nexon. It'll get a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree parking camera, ADAS level 2, and a two-spoke steering with a digital logo.

Powering the EV will be a big battery pack with an expected capacity between 55-56kWh. It will be the biggest battery pack in the EV lineup of Tata. The expected claimed range of Curvv EV will be more than 500 km per charge. Hence, we assume that it will deliver around 420-450 km of range in day-to-day use. The expected pricing of Curvv EV is Rs 18-24 lakh, and rivals include the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.

Curvv EV is going to be a very important product for Tata. It will not only open the gates to a new coupe-EV segment, but, it will also portray Tata's EV future with its unique design. The big battery and refined mechanical setup will position it as a premium product, something that Tata has not been known for making.
