Tata Harrier EV Likely To Get 75 kWh Battery Pack
The Tata Harrier EV, intended to compete with the Mahindra XUV e8, is expected to launch this year with a debut likely at the Auto Expo 2025. Test prototypes of the Harrier EV have already been observed on Indian roads on multiple occasions. While official details remain scarce, earlier reports hinted at a potential 60 kWh battery pack with a 500 km range. However, more recent information suggests a larger 75 kWh battery is now likely. This means an even longer range, which could very well deliver a real-world range of around 500 km, although the claimed number would be higher. The Harrier EV is also expected to feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) system and will likely be offered in the "Empowered" trim level. As per some online sources, it indicates that production may have already commenced.
It looks like Tata's playing it safe with the Harrier EV's design inside and out, it's expected to be pretty close to the regular Harrier we already know. Think of the same dashboard, steering wheel, center console, and interior layout. But it's not going to be a complete carbon copy as there will be some cool new bits thrown in. For starters, it's likely to get a bigger touchscreen, which is always a plus. Then there's the fancy stuff like a panoramic sunroof you can control with your voice, ambient mood lighting, a backlit Tata logo on the steering wheel, and much more. Harrier EV will also get a tweaked center console, so it's not exactly the same as the petrol/diesel version.

Design Details
The recently caught test mule offers a glimpse of what looks like a nearly finished Harrier EV out on test. Peeking under the camo, you could spot a rear-mounted electric motor and some pretty sophisticated multi-link independent rear suspension, but it's clear it's sticking close to the regular Harrier's overall look. That said, you can bet there will be some telltale EV signs, like a redesigned front bumper with a blanked-off grille you know, the usual EV styling cues while still keeping that recognizable Harrier vibe with aerodynamically optimized alloy wheels, and some tweaks inside the cabin as well.
Verdict
The Harrier EV is looking like it could be a real game-changer in the electric SUV space. It's got that modern design going on, packed with premium features, and the option of all-wheel drive is a big plus. Tata's cleverly slotted it in between the Curvv EV and the bigger Safari EV, so it's targeting folks who want a powerful, good-looking SUV but without burning the fossils. If the expected range holds up and all the promised tech makes it to production, the Harrier EV could be a seriously tempting option for anyone thinking about going electric but not wanting to compromise on performance or a bit of style.
