Tata Harrier Petrol & Safari Petrol Details
Both Harrier & Safari has been good success story for Tata since their launch. However, the lack of petrol engines has pushed away potential customers from buying these butch SUVs. But, with the introduction of the 1.5-lt T-GDI turbocharged petrol engine; both of these models will soon expand their portfolio. It is being reported online that this engine makes a peak power of 170PS & 280NM of peak torque. However, these figures might change as per the requirements until production starts.
Additionally, it is also being quoted in online reports that a DCT automatic gearbox will be offered with this engine. It means that the convenience of an automatic gearbox will remain on the petrol option as well. While its power figures are the same as that of the diesel but the torque is quite less. Now, when will the petrol engine launch? Well, this engine will debut by early 2024. This could possibly happen via the introduction of a facelift. We saw Harrier Electric with a different design at the Auto Expo'23. The 2024 facelift model can possibly carry forward design details from the Harrie EV.
In terms of build and overall space management, both of the models will remain more or less the same. However, we expect the addition of new features at the time of launch. Recently, Tata also introduced new Dark variants for both of these SUVs. These new models brought some interesting changes like wireless charging, memory seats, etc. Hence, the 2024 facelift is expected to carry more changes to both SUVs.
