Tata Motors in recent times have worked hard to update its portfolio. The latest models carry a modern design with enhanced features and advanced technologies. From the front end, Tata Punch looks a bit similar to its elder siblings Harrier and Safari and due to its signature grille, the car also looks similar to Tata Nexon. Punch offers multi lighting tail light section, projector headlamps and integrated Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, and stylish roof rails.
Whereas Maruti Suzuki Ignis gets an oddball grill and even the front bumper looks a bit overdone which makes Punch look better and carry a stand-alone design. Both the cars will give the driver a feel of a micro SUV. both the cars are well sorted with the driving positions and the ergonomics it carries. Ignis at the rear gets a better legroom and shoulder room compared to Punch. But at the same time, Punch gets a flattering flooring at the rear. The fuel economy is impressive and the Punch offers two driving modes - city and eco mode as standard. The Maruti Ignis gets the brand's 1.2-litre K12B petrol engine that churns out 83 PS of maximum power and 113 Nm of peak torque output. Just like Punch, Ignis is also mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard while the buyers can also opt for the optional 5-speed AMT gearbox. When compared to the Punch, the Ignis not only delivers better performance but has a lighter kerb weight that makes it more fuel-efficient.
