The Tata Tiago is one of the best selling cars in the segment and offers a comfortable, safe, and practical package to those looking for a VFM hatchback. With rising fuel costs and increasing traffic on the roads, the demand for CNG vehicles saw a significant increase in demand in the market. Tata Motors too is set to use this as an opportunity to dominate the segment with the launch of the Tata Tiago CNG and the Tigor CNG in the Indian market soon. Here are all the details that you should check about these upcoming Tata CNG cars in India.
Tata officially teased the upcoming Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG ahead of the launch on 19th January 2022. The Indian carmaker has also started taking in bookings for the CNG iterations of its most affordable cars. The interested buyers can book the Tiago CNG by paying INR 11000 to the nearest dealer. The Tata Tiago and the Tata Tigor scored a four-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash tests.

The Tata Tiago and the Tigor get a 1.2-L Revotron motor that delivers 86 PS and 113 Nm of peak torque output. In its petrol iteration, this engine comes mated to a five-speed manual as well as an AMT gearbox. The CNG versions of the Tiago and the Tigor too will get the same engine but is expected to deliver slightly lower power and torque output. The CNG version is also expected to be offered only with a manual gearbox.
On the features front, the Tata Tiago is offered with a large touchscreen infotainment system, power windows, cooled glovebox, automatic climate control, electric power steering, steering mounted controls, height-adjustable driver's seat, and rear parking sensors. On the safety front, the cars offer features like ABS, EBD, dual front airbags, ISOFIX mounts, rear parking sensors, tinted glasses, etc. The CNG variants too are expected to come with a similar features list. The Tata Tiago CNG price will only be known once the brand releases an official statement.
