Tata Tiago.ev First Batch Deliveries Started In India - Details

Tata Motors has begun the deliveries of the Tiago.ev, their most affordable EV model. The brand began the deliveries of the first batch with 2,000 Tiago.evs across 133 cities. The Tiago.ev became India's Fastest Booked EV after receiving 10,000 bookings in a single day. There are three different models and two different powertrain choices for the Tata Tiago.ev.

Mr. Nikhil Thapar, a resident of Delhi, received his Tiago.ev from Sagar Motors.

Commenting on the love and faith showered by its customers on the Tiago.ev, Mr. Vivek Srivatsa, Head, of Marketing, Sales and Service Strategy, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. said, "The launch of the Tiago.ev was aimed at accelerating the adoption of EVs by democratizing the Indian EV market and we are happy to announce that we are on the right path with this product, with cars retailed across 133 cities on the back of a robust sales network. The sheer trust in this brand has led to the success we are celebrating today."

Tata Tiago.ev Powertrain & Features

The Tata Tiago.ev comes with two different battery options: a 19.2 kWh battery pack and a 24 kWh battery pack. The former has a MIDC range of 250 km on a full charge, and the latter has a range of 315 km. Peak torque of 114 Nm and 74 bhp are produced by the larger 24 kWh battery pack. On the other hand, the 19.2 kWh battery pack has a maximum torque of 110 Nm and a power output of 60 bhp.

Tata has filled its entry level electric vehicle with a good number of features. The Tiago.ev gets automatic climate control, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Harmon sourced music system, digital instrument console, drive modes, cruise control, automatic wipers, TPMS, and other features. Safety features of the EV includes, dual-front airbags, reverse parking camera with sensors, follow me home headlamp, ABS with EBD and other safety features.

Verdict: One of Tata Motors' most reasonably priced electric vehicles is the Tiago.ev. Given that the Tiago.ev has already had more than 20,000 reservations and that the inaugural pricing range of Rs 8.49 lakh to Rs 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom) was only good for the first 20,000 reservations, the brand may soon hike the costs of the vehicle.
