Tata Tigor Dual-Tone Variant Discontinued - Read Details

Tata Tigor dual-tone has been silently discontinued by the company. The Tigor compact sedan has got the BS6 Phase 2 update.

The end date to meet the BS6 phase 2 emission norms is coming close. Hence, most manufacturers are updating their product lineup. Tata Tigor Dual-Tone Discontinuation Details

The Tata Tigor compact sedan is based on the popular hatchback Tiago. The Tigor offers more practicality of an extended boot for family usage. However, Tata has been selling it in various variants. One such variant was the dual-tone colour option. It was available in a Magnetic Red & Opera White exterior dual-tone paint scheme options; until now. As the BS6 phase 2 norms are getting closer, Tata has updated the Tigor. Hence, the dual-tone variants are no more on sale. This is done due to lower demand for these colour options in the market.

Mind you, the Tigor compact sedan comes with petrol and bi-fuel CNG powertrain options. The first one uses a 1.2-lt NA 3-cylinder petrol engine. This unit makes a peak power of 84 bhp & 113 Nm of peak torque. Tata offers a 5-sped manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options on it. Meanwhile, the bi-fuel CNG option uses the same 1.2-lt engine. However, this unit makes a peak power of 72 bhp & 92 Nm of peak torque in CNG mode. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox option.

Verdict

Due to its compact size and strong build, Tigor has been a popular car in its segment. Additionally, the CNG option has made it popular among cab operators as well. The recent BS6 phase 2 update has made the Tigor even smoother than ever before. Some of its main rivals in India include Hyundai Aura & Maruti Dzire.
