Hyundai Motor India Ltd. has introduced the 2023 i20 facelift in the Indian market with a starting price of Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The company has revamped the exterior design, enhanced features, expanded engine choices, introduced new color options, and made several other improvements. Minor Updates To The Exterior
2023 Hyundai i20 facelift features tweaked LED projector headlamp design along with LED DRLs. The front grille has also seen minor design changes with black front grille showcasing a more dynamic appearance thanks to its sharp-lined front and rear bumpers, enhancing aerodynamics. Also, it now feature more sharper and sporty 16-inch alloy wheels. The logo has been repositioned from its former location to the bumper and it now comes without fog lamps.
Subtle Changes To The Interior
The interior of the vehicle has undergone subtle changes, featuring a combination of dual-tone grey and black elements that are complemented by ambient lighting. Inside, you'll find an advanced infotainment system along with a premium BOSE 7-speaker audio system that includes seven nature-inspired soundscapes. The car also provides semi-leatherette seats, leatherette door armrests, and a leather-wrapped D-Cut steering wheel for added comfort and style.
Features & Technology
In terms of connectivity and technology, it offers an extensive selection of over 60 connected car features, including 127 Embedded VR commands and 52 voice commands in Hinglish. The vehicle supports Over-the-Air updates and features a Multilanguage user interface that accommodates 10 regional languages and 2 international languages. Additionally, it includes a convenient C-Type charger to ensure you can charge your devices on the go.
Safety Features
The i20 is now equipped with 26 standard safety features, which encompass six airbags, Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Antilock Braking System (ABS), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill Assist Control (HAC), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and more. Furthermore, it features a three-point seatbelt system with reminders for all seats, further enhancing safety and security.
Colour & Variants
The new Hyundai i20 offers a selection of eight stylish color options, which include six solid colors and two dual-tone choices. Among these exciting options are Amazon Grey, Atlas White, Titan Gray, Typhoon Silver, Starry Night, Fiery Red, as well as Atlas White with a Black Roof and Fiery Red with a Black Roof. The vehicle is available in five different variants, namely Era, Magna, Sportz, Asta, and Asta(O).
Engine Options
The i20 is now offered exclusively with a single engine choice, namely a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine. The brand has removed the 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine from the standard variant, making it exclusive to the N-Line version. The 1.2-liter engine can be paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or an IVT transmission.

Verdict
Hyundai has recently introduced minor alterations to its design approach while incorporating valuable safety enhancements in its premium hatchback. However, the removal of the turbo petrol engine could potentially discourage certain prospective buyers. The i20 continues to compete with the Baleno, Glanza, and Altroz.
