Even with less features, T-Fort is selling in huge numbers and now the Japanese carmaker has hiked the prices of the SUV by Rs 1.14 lakh for some of the variants. Owning a Fortuner in today's time has become too expensive now.

The Legender and GR Sport trim of the T-Fort gets a massive hike of Rs 1.14 lakh while the petrol and diesel MT 4X2 received Rs 61,000 price hike. The 4x4 versions (both MT and AT) of the Fortuner are now up by Rs 80,000. T-Fort is one of the most expensive D-Segment SUVs in the market currently.

T-Fort is available with two engine options - 2.7-litre petrol and 2.8L diesel. The former is a four-cylinder motor that belts out 164 bhp of power with a peak torque of 245 Nm. It gets mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and a six-speed torque converter automatic as an option.
The oil burner is the most popular choice in the Indian market as this motor pumps out 201 bhp of power on tap with a maximum torque of 500 Nm. Yes, 500 Nm of peak torque, however, this is limited to the AT version only. The manual variant of the diesel produces a peak torque of 420 Nm only. This engine gets mated to a six-speed stick shift transmission as standard and an optional six-speed torque converter automatic.
In other news, Toyota Kirloskar Motor have also raised prices of their other cars in their portfolio like the Glanza, Urban Cruiser and Innova Crysta. The Glanza is now expensive byRs 22,000 for some variants, Urban Cruiser by Rs 15,000 and Innova Crysta by Rs 86,000. The Japanese carmaker also unveiled their upcoming SUV, Urban Cruiser Hyryder in the Indian market that is expected to launch by first week of September. Once launched, it will take on the likes of Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun and Hyundai Creta.
