Toyota Belta Rebadged Ciaz as Belta in the International Markets

Maruti and Toyota with its joint venture is grabbing the market towards itself at a rapid pace. Earlier Toyota picked up Baleno from Maruti and sells it as Glanza in the market followed by Vitara Brezza which is sold as Urban Cruiser in the Indian markets. According to the recent news, it is announced that Toyota has also rebadged Maruti Suzuki Ertiga as Rumion in the South African market and has also rebadged Maruti Suzuki Ciaz as Toyota Belta for the international market and will also make its entry in India by 2022.

On comparing the Belta with the Ciaz, the premium sedan looks the same except for the change in the name and logo. Ciaz is a premium-looking sedan with a long wheelbase which makes the cabin a spacious space for all. The upcoming Belta will come with a slim grille with chrome accents on the top and bottom whereas it will not receive any other updates on the exterior.

Toyota has slightly tweaked the sedan and has also introduced a coloured TFT display that displays all necessary information needed by the driver and will come up with a G-force meter, power and torque meter, and average fuel efficiency as well. The sedan will be powered by a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine that is capable of churning out 103bhp of maximum power and 138 Nm of peak torque. Toyota will offer a four-speed torque converter automatic transmission in the international market whereas one can expect Toyota to also offer an additional five-speed manual transmission that will go on sale in India.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has been in the Indian market for a long time and is a spacious sedan that comes with advanced technology and enhanced creature comforts. Now the sedan will be sold by two automotive giants and in the international markets, it will also be available as Toyota Belta.
