Toyota Kirloskar Motor has now hiked the prices of Urban Cruiser and Glanza by a good Rs 33,000. The reason for that has not been cleared but we believe it is due to the rise in inventory costs. Both the cars are sourced from Maruti Brezza and Baleno respectively.
Sharing details on the Toyota Urban Cruiser then it is sourced from Maruti Brezza and both the compact SUVs are identical in terms of features, platform and engine option. The Japanese carmaker has increased the Urban Cruiser price by 12,500 for the Mid and High variant. This is irrespective of the transmission options. The top-spec Premium sets its bar at Rs 5,500.
Toyota Urban Cruiser is powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine under the hood. This engine generates 103 bhp at 6000 RPM with a peak torque of 138 Nm at 4400 RPM. It is mated to a 5-speed manual as standard and an optional 4-speed torque converter unit. The Urban Cruiser is retailed from Rs 8.63 lakh and Rs 11.41 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Sharing the price hike of the Glanza then this premium hatchback gets the highest hike of Rs 33,000. The hybrid versions of the Glanza get the maximum increase while the G variant with manual and automatic gearbox by Rs 15,700.
Toyota Glanza is powered by a 1.2L petrol and a 1.2L DualJet petrol motor. The latter makes more power of 89 bhp with 113 Nm of peak torque. Both the engine gets mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard while the CVT only comes with the 1.2L petrol. The price of Glanza starts from Rs 7.34 lakh and top model fetching till Rs 9.30 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi.

In other news, Toyota is also gearing up for the launches of its new sedan Belta. It is sourced from Maruti Ciaz and changes like new alloy wheel design, colour options and badging will be replaced. Rest, everything remains similar. Also, by next year, Toyota is also gearing up to enter the entry-level MPV segment to rival Maruti Ertiga and Mahindra Marazzo.
